July 8, 2016

July is the seventh month of the year and the last one before school starts up again. Go out with a bang and celebrate with all the local events we have going on!

T.G.I.F. at Chukkar Farms

On July 16th as part of their 2016 Monthly Concerts for Great Causes the Jeff Pike Band will be playing classic rock and reggae from the 70s and 80s.You’ll even have the option to partake in a wine tasting from Jax Fine Wine & Spirits. The concerts starts at 8 p.m. and a portion of the sales goes to Serv International.

Canton Farmers MarketRustic Root Goodies

The farmers market is open every Saturday from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. Saturdays in Cannon Park. Grab some fresh, local fruits, veggies, honey, meat and other delicious treats.

Movies in the Park

July 16 “Zootopia” will be the film featured at Movies in the Park, with festivities beginning at 8 p.m. in Brown Park, 151 Elizabeth St.  Sponsored by the city of Canton, Northside Hospital and Southern Outdoor Cinema.  The movie begins at sundown. Get your pillows and blankets and settle in to watch this cute movie.

Coffee with a Copcoffee

Coffee with a cop is July 30 from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at Cup Up Coffee. Go meet some of our local officers, ask questions and build your sense of security as you enjoy a delicious cup of joe.

A Novel Idea

A literary evening called A Novel Idea is the newest addition to downtown Canton events.  The event takes place on July 20th at the Snug Gastro Pub at 190 East Main St., 7-9 p.m. on the third Wednesday of each month. The theme for July is Beach Reads. August’s meeting will be on August 17th and the theme will be Syfy and fantasy.

Old, New, Borrowed and Blue

The new exhibit at the Cherokee County History Museum opens up on July 29th. This temporary exhibit features wedding dresses and accessories from the 1920’s to the present, including a look at a few local residents and their wedding photos and traditions.
