Through Aug. 3, the Cherokee County Animal Shelter will be offering free pet adoptions as part of their goal to win $5,000 to $125,000 in the ASPCA Rachael Ray $100K Challenge.
This fantastic offer was announced as a thank you to the community for helping them reach 3,000 “likes” on their Facebook page, which is one of the criteria used in measuring community outreach in the ASPCA challenge.
All adoptions include spay/neuter, micro chipping, initial vaccinations, flea/tick treatment, deworming, leukemia testing for cats, heart worm testing for dogs, and several other services. This is a $450 value, all for free!
The 2013 ASPCA Rachael Ray $100K Challenge is a nationwide competition for animal shelters (and their communities) aimed at getting more animals adopted or returned to their owners than ever before. Shelters have the opportunity to win cash in categories ranging from community involvement to increase in number of pets saved over the previous year’s efforts.
There are ways you can help during the competition.
- Follow them on Facebook at www.facebook.com/CherokeeCountyAnimalShelter.
- Send everyone you know to their page of adoptables at www.petfinder.com/shelters/ga460.html.
- Come out to their events and take your friends.
- Volunteer! www.cherokeega-animals.org/volunteer.html
- Foster an animal to get him or her ready for adoption www.cherokeega-animals.org
- Sponsor an animal in a Homeless Pet Club www.cherokeega-animals.org/HPC.html
- Spread the word that they are trying to save hundreds more lives. Ask your friends, family and colleagues to come adopt a dog or cat (or both)!
If you have been looking for a pet to provide a forever home to, this is the perfect opportunity. If you are unable to adopt at this time, show your support for everything they do for the community.
