After skipping a few months, First Friday festivities are returning to downtown Canton with an early St. Patrick’s Day party set for 6 – 9 p.m. March 7. The evening’s events are all family friendly and will include Irish music and dance, food, fun and the always-popular classic car show.
In addition to the planned activities, local merchants will be open late for shoppers and there will be vendors set up throughout Cannon Park, including the recently announced Angels Among Us Pet Rescue.
A part of the Canton Main Street Program, First Friday is a monthly program held on the first Friday of most months. The residents of Canton come together in a fun and festive atmosphere in the historical downtown to create a true sense of community. It also provides the opportunity for people to see that downtown Canton is truly a place where local citizens can live, work, shop, and play.
The center for all these activities is Cannon Park at the Gazebo and admission is free. For more information or to sign up as a vendor, visit www.downtoncantonga.com or call 678-744-MAIN.
