The warmer weather, sunny days, and delightful weekends that May brings mark the start of a busy time of year! With the farmer’s markets underway, and families bustling about Hobgood Park for baseball, it is time to celebrate spring with outdoor events and festivals in North Georgia as well as well! Living in Woodstock or Canton means that there are plenty of local events to take in. Check out the following events this May:
Cherokee Indian Festival and Pow Wow-May 9 and 10
Native American tradition, entertainment, and arts and crafts will be found in Boling Park on Mother’s Day weekend in Canton.
Canton Festival of the Arts-May 16

The 12th Annual Festival of the Arts is coming to Canton on May 16 and 17. This event, put on by the Cherokee Art Center, features an artist’s market, a children’s area, food and concessions, and the serenity garden area. The serenity garden area allows visitors to learn about locally grown plants and produce. Visitors will also have the chance to purchase plants and produce.
Woodstock Spring Festival-May 16
The 4th annual Woodstock Public Safety Foundation Spring Festival will take place on Saturday, May 16 from 10am-5pm. The Park at City Center will host arts and crafts booths, a kid zone, public safety vehicles and demonstrations, and live music. Proceeds will benefit public safety initiatives in Woodstock, and the event will be proceeded by the Hustle for Heroes 5K.
Wing and Rock Fest-May 30 and 31
The name says it all for this 10th annual event. Visitors will have the opportunity to sample chicken wings and listen to rock music at the Park at City Center during this two day event. Kids activities and numerous vendors will be present during this two day family event.
