We don’t know if anything says fall more than apple picking, bonfires, pumpkins, fall colors, and a good old fashioned Oktoberfest! Fall is certainly in full swing in Cherokee County, and we don’t want you to miss out on the following events and opportunities!
Oktoberfest
The first Friday of October is just around the corner! That means it is time to visit downtown Canton for the monthly First Friday event on Friday, October 2! October’s event is cleverly claiming and Oktoberfest theme. Live music will be provided by classic rock band Black Wolf Moon, and food and craft vendors will be open for business!
Chili Cookoff
Chili is another sign of fall! If you’ve got a recipe that you believe is worthy of winning a prize, then why not enter into the annual Chili Cookoff during the Canton Farmer’s Market?! Entry fee is $10 and additional information may be found at the Canton Historic Downtown Loop event page for the Chili Cookoff.
Scarecrow Contest
In October, downtown Canton holds a Scarecrow Contest! It is free to participate, and of course free to take in the whimsy of fall through observing the unique creatures that line the streets. Make sure to visit downtown Canton October 24-October 31 to take a look at these fun scarecrows! Contact Micah Fowler with the Canton Historic Downtown Loop for participation information!
