Will meet at 10:30 a.m. at the Bartow County Library in Cartersville. Speaker Wanda Patterson will do a presentation on John Rollin Ridge, grandson of Major Ridge and son of John Ridge. Rollin Ridge, considered to be the first Native American novelist, witnessed his father’s execution in 1839. He spent the last 17 years of his life working as a newspaper editor and writer for the Sacramento Bee and the San Francisco Herald, among other publications.
